Accepting Membership - 2017

Congratulations on your election as a candidate for membership in Phi Beta Kappa! Please return the member registration form and a check or come to room 420 South Hall to accept membership. If you have misplaced your copy of the registration form, please contact pbk@saa.ls.wisc.edu for a copy to be emailed to you. To ensure that all arrangements can be made prior to the Initiation Ceremony, it is important that you notify us of your decision no later than Friday, April 7, 2017.

The Phi Beta Kappa initiation ceremony and banquet will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017. As a new member, you are invited to the banquet as a guest of the society. Parents, family, and friends of new members are invited to honor the initiates at the ceremony and the banquet. Banquet reservations for guests of initiates should be made by Friday, April 14, 2017 by coming to room 420 South Hall or by mailing the necessary form and a check.

The dinner cost for guests of initiates is $30.00. Phi Beta Kappa members on the University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty and in the Madison-area community will be in attendance. The initiation and banquet are festive celebrations of your academic success, and we encourage you and your guests to attend.

The initiation ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Union South, Varsity Hall, 1308 W. Dayton Street. Initiates are asked to gather at 3:30 p.m. in the hallway outside the lounge in order to receive instructions about the format of the initiation ceremony. Dress is business casual.  After the initiation ceremony, we will proceed with a reception where there will be a cash bar at 5:00 p.m., followed by a banquet honoring inductees at 5:45 p.m.

Please send a CHECK OR CASHIER'S CHECK ONLY for the one-time membership fee of $115.00, or dinner reservations for guests ($30 each) should be made payable to Phi Beta Kappa, and either be mailed or delivered to:
